My Beautiful Embroideries was started in 2003 with the objective of
keeping alive the art of hand embroidery in India and to provide income
to uneducated but talented young artisans.
Our embroideries are inspired by “Parsi Gara” embroidery The Parsis
arrived in India from Persia about 1300 years ago to escape religious
persecution. They were the first to start the trade route by sea to
China. The beautiful silk embroideries known as “Parsi Embroideries”
were made by skilled Chinese workers for prosperous Parsi clients. The
designs have Persian, Indian and Chinese influences, since brisk trade
in silks and embroideries existed between these countries since 100 BC
on what was known as the silk route.
Parsi embroidery designs are inspired from the floral kingdom, birds
and animals. The background is usually covered with sprays of flowers
with birds either perched on them or flying in the sky.
My Beautiful Embroidereis can adapt any form of embroidery to modern
fashions.
